Diese Diplomarbeit vergleicht den Roman "Waiting for the Barbarians" von John Maxwell Coetzee mit der gleichnamigen Oper von Philip Glass. Schwerpunkt der Arbeit ist der Textvergleich zwischen Libretto und Originaltext, wobei speziell Fokusverschiebungen und Perspektivenwechsel im Mittelpunkt der Analyse stehen.
Diese Arbeit beinhaltet Bilder (Multimediabeilage).

This diploma thesis compares the novel "Waiting for the Barbarians" by John Maxwell Coetzee and the same-titled opera by Philip Glass with a particular focus on the changes with regard to the story's perspective and focus.
