Abstract
(Deutsch)
Abstract
(Englisch)
In the course of this thesis the composition of compounds of Alpinia nutans and A. purpurata was investigated phytochemically and compared to other types of this species. Four compounds could be isolated from the rhizome of A. nutans through separation using Sephadex® and preparative thin-layer chromatography: a flavonoid (2,4-dimethoxy-6-hydroxychalcone), free indole (3-H-indole), a curcuminoid (1,7-diphenyl-5(E)-heptene-3-one-4-ol), and a cinnamic acid derivative (methyl-3-phenylprop-2-enoate). Free indole has not been known yet as component of zingiberaceae. A formation of artefacts can be excluded, as this compound was detected in different sources and it was verified using different extraction methods. The presence of curcuminoids in the species Alpinia is remarkable, which is also a new feature of this species. Only a mixture of triterpenes could be isolated from the roots of A. purpurata via separation with Sephadex®. The main component is most probably γ-sitosterol.
Furthermore, biotests with Cladosporium sphaerospermum and Spodoptera littoralis were performed. The chloroform extracts of eleven Alpinia species were separated with thin-layer chromatography and examined concerning their antifungal effect. Thereby extracts of different organ regions were analysed separately. Spraying the thin-layer plates with conidiospores of C. sphaerospermum resulted in clear zones of inhibition in all organ samples. Additionally, four samples showed a growth-promoting effect. Moreover, a substance with antifungal effect could be isolated from the rhizome of A. galangal and identified co-chromatographically as 3-methoxy-propenyl-phenol. The biotest with S. littoralis was performed with the same chloroform extracts. Especially the organ extracts of A. nutans and Alpinia sp. show strong insecticide effects. Subsequently, a further test with dry-column fractions of the rhizome extracts of these two species was performed, whereat especially the lipophilic fractions were effective as insecticides. The results are discussed and compared to known data from literature.
