In dieser Diplomarbeit werden die Phänomene der Über- und Unterqualifikation, die eine aktuelle Problematik am Arbeitsmarkt darstellen, thematisiert.
Besonderes Augenmerk wird dabei auf das Pädagogikstudium sowie seine Qualifizierung gerichtet. Des Weiteren beinhaltet diese Arbeit eine empirische Untersuchung, die die Frage nach der subjektiven Sichtweise hinsichtlich Unter- und Überqualifikation von Diplompädagogen in psychosozialen Berufsfeldern klären soll. Dazu wurden problemzentrierte Interviews nach Witzel (1982) geführt, deren Auswertung durch die Methode der qualitativen Inhaltsanalyse nach Mayring (2010) erfolgte. Zusammenfassend kann festgehalten werden, dass sich Diplompädagogen, die im psychosozialen Bereich tätig sind, in Hinblick auf die praktische Ausbildung durch das Studium unterqualifiziert fühlen. Hinsichtlich des erworbenen wissenschaftlichen und theoretischen Wissens nehmen sie jedoch eine Überqualifikation wahr.

This diploma thesis examines the issue of over- and underqualification in how it manifests as an actual problem in the labour market. Particular attention is dedicated to the education gained through study of science of education as well as to academic aims and qualifications obtained. Furthermore, this diploma thesis contains an empirical study, which focuses on the subjective view of university graduates, who studied science of education and work in psychosocial occupations. Problem centered interviews (Witzel 1982) were conducted as well as analysed with the method of qualitative content analysis (Mayring 2010). In summary, the most notable results demonstrated that the interviewed graduates, who work in the psychosocial field, most notably report feeling underqualified as a result of having gained too little job-related skills from their study. On the other hand, they also report feeling overqualified in terms of science-based and theoretical knowledge.
