Abstract
(Deutsch)
Abstract
(Englisch)
The presented paper illustrates the pedagogical approach of Rebeca Wild as an exam-ple for the inseparable connection between culture and education. Since prenatal state the human being is confronted with culture. In that sense culture “[…] is the common system of ideas, knowledge and faith, which helps the people to arrange their perceptions and experiences, to reach decision and to orientate towards one’s acts.” (translated from Vivelo 1995: 329) Forming thought processes as part of human’s en-culturation process, its culture specific worldview and its personality, is being devel-oped. This so called enculturation process is emerging by the formal and/or by implicit participation in it. Rebeca Wild’s publications demonstrate examples of how the pro-cess takes place. In the light of a culture anthropological viewpoint the approach of Rebecca Wild is criticized. She transfers the Eurocentric world view to a different cul-tural context, sets it above the local world view and conducts education aid. As such it can be compared to missionary work. On the other hand her pedagogic approach could be seen as a potential lip forward for an intercultural learning, in which the cul-tural and human want have found a new space.
