Das Buch Ijob beschäftigt sich mit dem Problem des Leidens des Gerechten und der Unzulänglichkeit der Doktrin des Tun-ergehen zusammenhangs. Obwohl er gerecht ist , muss jedoch Ijob viel Leiden. In seinem schrecklichen Zustand fragt er nach dem Sinn des Lebens. Er scheut sich nicht Gott zu konfrontieren un von ihm Erklaärung und Anteort zu fordern. Seine Klage wird als "Gebetssprache" bezeichnet und Gott bestätigt und anerkennt sie. Ijob wird vom "hören" zu "Gottesschauen" geführt.
Heutzutage befinden sich viele Igbo und Afrikanische Christinnen in einer Glaubenskrise. Ihr Leiden widerspricht ihrem Glauben an einen allmächtigen und gütigen Gott. Sie fordern Erklärung und Antwort zu diesen "Lebenswiderspruchen" Diese Arbeit versucht das Buch Ijob im Kontext der Igbo Kultur zu analysieren und versucht zu identifizieren welche Antwort das Buch Ijob bietet im Kontext ihrer Glaubenskrise.
Abstract

The Book of Job concerns itself with the problem of the suffering of the innocent and the upright. The severe suffering of the upright Job contradicts the claims of the proponents of the doctrine of retribution that the uprights are rewarded with success and good health and the wicked with pains and suffering. In his painful situation, Job confronts God and demands for explanation for his ordeal. He is led through an arduous process of hearing to seeing (beholding) God This produces in him deeper understanding of faith and internal peace.
Most Igbo and African Christians experience faith crisis. There appear a contradiction between the sufferings they encounter in life and their belief in an all powerful and all loving God. As in the case of Job, it appears most times as if God or fate is favouring the faithless and punishing the faithful. Most of the Igbo and African Christians search for answers and explanations to their suffering situations and belief in an all loving and all powerful God. This work attempts to analyse the Book of Job in the context of Igbo culture and tries to identify what mesages the Igbo and African Christians could derive from the Book of Job in the context of their faith crisis.
