Abstract
(Deutsch)
Abstract
(Englisch)
Social Entrepreneurship is a topic that has gained more recognition in the last decade and become a much discussed issue. In this thesis the attention is directed at Thailand. Thitherto there are hardly any scientific papers about Social Entrepreneurship in Thailand. This thesis looks into Social Entrepreneurship as an emerging development approach and examines which role it plays in the development and development politics of Thailand. With the help of literature analysis the Social Entrepreneurship landscape of Thailand is presented, the main players are described and a possible collaboration with the government, investors and universities is pointed out. After the surrounding conditions and the Social Entrepreneurship network have been illustrated, two case studies show how Social Entrepreneurship can be realized. This thesis shows that Social Entrepreneurship can create jobs, provide missing social services and strengthen marginalized groups. In addition Social Entrepreneurship presents an opportunity for Non-governmental organisations and Non-profit organisations to act more independent and self-determined.
