Das Hauptziel meiner These ist, die Struktur der polnischen Wirtschaft zu analysieren mittels Input-Output Tabellen für die Periode von 1999 bis 2009.
Die Einführung beschreibt die polnische Wirtschaft und es ist interessant, dass Polen während der Periode von 1999 bis 2009, die fünfte höchste durchschnittliche Wachstumsrate in der Europäischen Union hatte.
Die These bespricht die allgemeinen Annahmen von Input-Output Tabellen und erklärt, was das Backward Linkages (wenn die Industrie, Produkte von anderen Industrien in seinem eigenen Produktionsprozess benutzt) und das Forward Linkages (wenn der Sektor die eigenen Produkte an andere Sektoren übergibt) ist. In diesem Kapitel werden die Methoden der Berechnung von Koeffizienten der Input-Output Tabellen definiert. Diese Methoden berücksichtigen die Berechnung von Key Sectors
(die wichtigsten Industrien) und Spatial Linkages (die wichtigsten Sektoren für Import und Export) in der polnischen Wirtschaft.
Im folgenden Abschnitt wird der Begriff ein vertikale Spezialisation besprochen und insbesondere benutzte diese Studie den Import Content of Export (wieviel die importierten Waren verwendet werden, um die Waren zu erzeugen, die später exportiert werden).
Die These bespricht weiter existierende Literatur und liefert derzeitige Informationen der Datenbank (d.h. die World Input Output Datenbank) welche in dieser Studie verwendet wird. Nach dieser Diskussion liefert die These Informationen über die Entwicklung
der Hauptvariablen welche oben beschrieben werden. Der letzte Teil bespricht wie die Berechnungen für den Gesetzgeber nützlich sein kann, um die polnische Wirtschaft besser führen zu können.

The main aim of my thesis is to analyze the structure of the Polish economy using the World Input Output Tables for the period of eleven years between 1999 and 2009.
The introduction describes the Polish economy in general, showing that during the period of interest Poland had the fifth highest average growth rate in the EU.
The thesis proceeds to discuss the general assumptions of Input-Output tables and explains what Backward Linkages (when the industry uses products from other industries in its own production process)
and Forward Linkages (when the sector stream the own products to other sectors) are. In this chapter the methods of calculation of coefficients
in Input-Output tables are defined. These methods allow for the calculation of key sectors (the most important industries) and spatial linkages
(the most important sectors for import and export) in the Polish economy.
In the next stage the notion of vertical specialisation is discussed, and in particular that used in this study, namely the import content
of exports (how much the imported goods are used to produce the goods, which are later on exported).
The thesis goes on to discuss existing literature and presents information on the database (i.e. the World Input Output Database) used in this study. Following this discussion, the thesis presents information on and developments in the major variables of interest that are described above. Conclusions discuss the results obtained and how the measures calculated are helpful for policymakers to better manage the Polish economy.
