The Northern Gateway-Pipeline Protest in British Columbia, Canada
Die vorliegende Forschung untersucht den Einfluss von Onlinemedien auf die Organisation von Umweltprotesten. Die Strukturierung von Onlineprotest wird anhand des Northern Gateway-Pipeline Protest in British Columbia (B.C.), Kanada untersucht. Das Projekt ist von der Kanadischen Ölfirma Enbridge initiiert. Die Pipeline soll von den Ölsanden in Alberta zu einem Hafen in Kitimat führen. Das Projekt wird von zahlreichen NGOs und Non-profit Organisationen landesweit abgelehnt, sie stehen Enbridge als Opposition gegenüber.

The Northern Gateway-Pipeline Protest in British Columbia, Canada
The purpose of this research is to investigate the effects of Online Media on the organization of an environmental protest. With the example of the Northern Gateway-Pipeline Protest in British Columbia (B.C.), Canada- structures of Online protest are examined. The project is proposed by the Canadian oil company Enbridge and is intended to run from the oil tar sands in Alberta to a port in Kitimat, BC. The pipeline is opposed by various NGOs and Non-profit Organizations across the country that are unified by the common adversary Enbridge.
