Der Einsatz von neuen Medien in Lehr- und Lernprozessen stellt heutzutage bereits einen Standard dar, e-learning-Elemente sind fixe Bestandteile zahlreicher schulischer und universitärer Curricula. Die vorliegende Arbeit folgt dieser Entwicklung und liefert mit dem L:ESSi einen Baustein zur Erweiterung des e-learning-Angebots am Institut für Sportwissenschaft Wien (ISW), welcher von Studierenden am ISW in deren persönliche multimediale Lernumgebung integriert werden kann.
Die vorliegende Magisterarbeit besteht aus zwei Teilen: Der eine Teil besteht aus dem Lernmodul L:ESSi selbst, das im Zuge der Arbeit entwickelt und mithilfe der Autoren-Software Macromedia Authorware erstellt wurde. Der Name L:ESSi ist ein Akronym für „Lernmodul: Einführung in die Statistik und Sportinformatik“. Es handelt sich hierbei um eine sogenannte CBT-Anwendung (computer based training), d.h. um ein interaktives, computergestütztes Lernprogramm, das Studierende des ISW bei der Vorbereitung zu den Vorlesungsprüfungen der Grundlagenlehrveranstaltungen „BD1III - Einführung in die Sportinformatik“ und „BA3I - Einführung in die Statistik“ unterstützen soll.
Im zweiten - theoretischen - Teil der Magisterarbeit wird einerseits eine theoretische Basis gelegt, auf der die praktische Umsetzung von L:ESSi aufbaut: Es werden Grundlagen und konstituierende Aspekte der Mediendidaktik erläutert und diskutiert, Autoren-Systeme vorgestellt und die Software Macromedia Authorware im Speziellen eingehender erklärt. Andererseits werden Aufbau und Struktur des Lernmoduls ausführlich beschrieben und die Resultate einer Evaluierung von L:ESSi durch Studierende des ISW präsentiert.

Nowadays, different types of new media are commonly used in teaching and learning processes, e-learning-applications are part and parcel of several curricula of schools as well as at university. This thesis follows this lead and provides with the interactive application L:ESSi an amendatory add-on to the e-learning-supply at the Institute of Sport Science Vienna (ISW).
This thesis is divided into two parts: part one was the task of developing and generating the application L:ESSi itself. The name of the application forms an acronym and stands for "Lernmodul: Einführung in die Statistik und Sportinformatik''. L:ESSi is a so-called CBT-(computer based training-) application , i.e. it is an interactive, multimedial, computer-based learning program. Its purpose is to support students at the ISW, who are preparing for one of the exams to the introductory courses ``BD1III - Einführung in die Sportinformatik'' and ``BA3I - Einführung in die Statistik'' for Sport Informatics and Statistics, respectively.
The second part of this thesis is a theoretical one, which consists of the tasks at hand of establishing a theoretical basis for the practial implementation of L:ESSi as well as evaluating the CBT-application and its usefulness for students at the ISW. Here, fundamental aspects of media didactics are discussed, authoring-systems are introduced generally and the software Macromedia Authorware is described specifically, since it was used for creating L:ESSi. Further, composition and structure of L:ESSi are depicted and the results of the evaluation are presented.
