Der Fokus dieser Arbeit liegt auf der Bereitstellung und der Verwaltung von „mixed tenure“ Wohnanlangen. „Mixed tenure“ bedeutet ein Mischung von verschiedenen Eigentumsformen innerhalb einer Wohnlage; um genauer zu sein, handelt es sich bei dieser Arbeit um Wohnanlagen bei denen sowohl geförderte Mietwohnungen als auch Eigentumswohnungen vorhanden sind. Als Fallbeispiele wurden zwei Städte gewählt, die unterschiedliche Wohlfahrtsregime repräsentieren. Birmingham steht für das liberale Regime und Wien für das konservativ-korporatistische Regime mit einem starken sozialdemokratischen Einfluss. Das Ziel der Arbeit besteht darin die Unterschiede zwischen den beiden Städten bezüglich der Intention und der Probleme solche Wohnungsprojekte herauszuarbeiten und zu analysieren.

The focus of this thesis is the provision and management of mixed tenure housing schemes. Mixed tenure housing is characterised by multiple ownership of dwellings, to be more specific, social housing and privately owned dwellings within one housing estate. Two cities of different welfare state regimes were chosen as case studies: Birmingham, which represents the liberal welfare state regime on the one hand and Vienna, which stands for the corporatist-statist welfare state regime with a strong social democratic influence on the other hand. The aim of the thesis is to analyse the reason why mixed tenure housing is provided and what challenges housing associations have to cope with.
