Während weltweit verschiedene Sportsysteme in erster Linie auf einem Netzwerk an regionalen Sportvereinen aufgebaut sind, stützt sich der Sport in Japan zu einem großen Teil auf den Firmensport. Firmen verschiedenster Branchen sind Gründer und Besitzer eines Sportteams, dessen Sportler ausschließlich Angestellte der Firma sein können. Die Art der Verbindung von Arbeit und Sport ist je nach Firma unterschiedlich und hängt auch davon ab, ob Leistungs-, Breiten- oder Gesundheitssport gefördert wird. Diese Arbeit behandelt das japanische Firmensportsystem anhand der Firmenteams im Judo und stützt sich auf zwei große Fragen. Einerseits wird nach den Charakteristika und Besonderheiten des japanischen Firmensportsystems gefragt und bringt eine Beschreibung des gesamten Systems anhand der Judofirmenteams. Andererseits stellt sich die Autorin die Frage, warum im japanischen Judo auch heute noch zahlreiche Firmenteams bestehen, während es in vielen anderen Sportarten eine große Zahl an Auflösungen seit den 1990er-Jahren gab. Gründe für den Erhalt des Firmensportsystems im japanischen Judo konnten in der Wirtschaft, im Sportmarketing und im Sportsystem Japans ausgemacht werden bzw. beinhalteten auch Besonderheiten des Judo in Japan, aber auch im Judo ist eine Tendenz zu einem modernen Firmensportsystem zu erkennen.

While the organization of sports in different countries all over the world is set up primarily on a network of regional sports clubs, sports in Japan is based on corporate sports to a large extent. Companies of various industries found a sports team that consists just of employees of the company itself and become the owner of it. The nature of the interaction of work and sports is different depending on the company and moreover it also depends on whether the company is promoting competitive sports or mass sports. This work deals with the system of Japanese corporate sports by the means of judo teams and is based on two major issues. On the one hand the author is asking for the characteristics and particularities of the corporate sports system and therefore a detailed description of corporate sports teams in judo is given as an example for the whole system. On the other hand the question why still a lot of corporate teams in Japanese judo exists, while a large number of teams in many other sports broke up since the 1990s, is posed. Reasons for the preservation of the corporate sports system in japanese judo were found in business relations, in the marketing of sports and in the japanese sports organization itself as well as in some special features of judo in Japan. Nevertheless, although corporate sports was maintained in japanese judo even today, even in judo there is a trend towards a modern corporate sport system.
