Seit den letzten dreißig Jahren gibt es ein großes Interesse an der Erforschung der Metaphern. Metaphern sind nicht mehr als ornamentale Aspekt der Sprache verstanden. Es hat sich gezeigt, dass sie sind die grundlegende Schema, nach dem die Menschen die Welt und ihre Aktivitäten konzipieren. Metapher ist ein Mechanismus, der uns hilft die Realitäten unseres Lebens zu verstehen, sowie verschiedene abstrakte Begriffe wie Emotionen, Gefühle und Gedanken. Laut der Kognitiven Linguistik, nicht nur die Rede eines einzelnen, sondern der Sphäre des Denkens und Handelns metaphorisch ist.
Das Ziel dieser Arbeit ist es, einen Beitrag zur Erforschung von Metaphern zu erstellen. Dazu werden die semantischen und konzeptuellen Variationen des Emotionswortes pleasure (Vergnügung) analysiert, um festzustellen wie das Kozept PLEASURE strukturiert ist. Diese Masterarbeit untersucht den Zusammenhang zwischen den Gedanken, der Sprache, der kognitiven Linguistik, Emotionen und Korpus basierte Ansatz zur Metapher. Das Ziel dieser Arbeit ist die Struktur-Semantischen Eigenschaften des Wortes pleasure (Vergnügung), zu beschreiben. Daher die Kollokationsanalyse von den verschiedenen Wortformen von pleasure (so wie pleasurable, pleasurably, pleasured, pleased) durchgeführt wird. Zusätzlich werden die konzeptuelle Metapher und Metonymien des Konzepts PLEASURE analysiert. Die Kombination von Metaphern Analyse und Korpus Linguistik steht im Fokus dieser Masterarbeit.
Die Arbeit besteht aus zwei Hauptteilen - theoretischen Grundlagen und empirische Analyse. Der theoretische Teil enthält allgemeine Informationen über Metapher und kognitive Semantik, Entwicklungen in der Theorien von Metapher, Metapher und Korpus Linguistik sowie die Zusammenhang von Metaphern und Emotionen. Der praktische Teil bietet eine semantische und Kollokationsanalyse der verschiedenen Formen des Wortes pleasure. Eine detaillierte konzeptionelle Analyse von pleasure (Vergnügung), ist enterteilt nach den den wichtigsten Arten von Metaphern, wie Struktur, Orientierungs- und Ontologischen Metaphern. Kurze Analyse der konzeptionellen Metonymien und verwandten Konzepten von pleasure werden auch im empirischen Teil vorgestellt. Diese Arbeit ist ein korpusbasierte Analyse, weil die Daten für empirische Teil von COCA (Corpus of Contemporary American English) genommen sind. Metaphorical pattern analysis, dass von Stefanowitsch vorgeschlagen wurde ist verwendet für die Identifizierung und konzeptionelle Analyse der Metaphern. Die Arbeit umfasst eine Kombination von Bottom-up- und Top-down Abzätze, sowie qualitative und quantitative Analysen. Infolgedessen stellt die vorliegende Arbeit eine detaillierte Analyse von pleasure (Vergnügung), die hilft zu verstehen, wie die Leute über die Gefühle reden und wie sie dieses Gefühl konzipieren. Diese Studie kann für die vergleichende Analyse von anderen Emotionen verwendet warden etweder in Englisch oder auch in den anderen Sprachen.

For the last thirty years, there was a tremendous interest in the study of metaphors. Metaphors are no longer understood as an ornamental aspect of language. It has been shown, that they are fundamental scheme by which people conceptualize the world and their activities. Metaphor is a mechanism that helps us to understand the realities of our life, different abstract notions such as emotions, feelings, and thoughts. Cognitive linguistics considers that not just speech of an individual but the sphere of thinking and acting is metaphorical.
The aim of this thesis is to make a contribution to the study of metaphors, to investigate and to identify semantic and conceptual variations of one of the emotion word pleasure and to see how the concept of PLEASURE is structured. This paper examines the interrelationship between thought, language, cognitive linguistics, emotion and corpus-based approach to metaphor. The objectives of this paper are to describe structural-semantic characteristics of the word pleasure using corpus. Therefore, the collocational analysis and overlaps between different word forms of pleasure (such as pleasurable, pleasurably, pleasured and pleased) will be conducted. Additionally the conceptual metaphors and metonymies of the concept PLEASURE will be analysed. The combination of metaphor analysis and corpus linguistics is in focus for this research.
The thesis consists of two major parts - theoretical background and empirical analysis. Theoretical part provides general information about metaphor and cognitive semantics, developments in metaphor theory, metaphor and corpus linguistics as well as interconnection of metaphors and emotions. The practical part provides a semantic and collocational analysis of different parts of speech of the word pleasure, their semantic overlap and a detailed conceptual analysis of pleasure, which is subdivided according to the main types of metaphors, such as structural, orientational and ontological. Short analysis of the conceptual metonymies and related concepts of pleasure are also presented in the empirical part. This thesis is a corpus-based study, data for the research was elicited from COCA (Corpus of Contemporary American English). Metaphorical pattern analysis was used for identification and conceptual analysis of metaphors. Research has employed a combination of bottom-up and top-down approaches as well as qualitative and quantitative analysis. As a result, this thesis presents a detailed analysis of pleasure, which provides the better understanding of how people talk about and conceptualize this emotion. This study can be used for comparative analysis of other emotions in English or in other languages.
