Talkshows wurden wegen ihrer Nähe zu den ordinären Menschen und ihrer Verfügbarkeit in Bezug
auf den Inhalt populär. Die Talkshow schränkt Themen ein, die Fachkenntnisse erfordern würden.
Ilie (2001) hat die Talkshow als Kombination von Konversation und institutionellen Diskurs vorgestellt und führte das Label semi-institutionellen
Diskurs ein.
Diese Forschung untersuchte die Talkshow als Instanz von einer Mischung diskursiver Art, das die
Eigenschaften von institutionellen und dialogbezogenen Diskursen in Verbindung setzt. Das Ziel
der Forschung ist es, einige wesentlich abwechselnden Aspekte und die Reflexion der
ausgewählten diskursiven Eigenschaften des Sprecherwechsels in den ausgewählten Talkshows zu
ermitteln. Um die Konversation und institutionellen Seiten der Talkshow aufzuklären wurden
diskursive Aspekte als asymmetrische Machtbeziehungen, Rollenwechsel und das Mithören des
Publikums und der sprachliche Aspekt wie Sprecherwechsel ausgesucht.
Im empirischen Teil wird die Koexistenz vom Gespräch und institutionelle Diskussion auf der Grundlage der wechsel-Zuordnungstechnik und die
Funktionen der Wiederholungen und Überschneidungen erforscht, unter Bezugnahme auf den
Korpus, bestehend aus den Niederschriften von zwei Talkshows, The Ellen DeGeneres Show und
The View.
Die Analyse hat gezeigt, dass The View, das Gespräch mit vier Co-Gastgebern, mehr
institutionalisiert als zum Beispiel Fairclough’s „eingebetteter intertextualität“. Obwohl es
interaktive und institutionelle Merkmale hat, die Seite der Konversation neigt dazu, geordneter und
organisierter unter den Talk-Show Moderatoren zu sein. Die andere Talkshow, The Ellen
DeGeneres Show mit nur einem Host, hat mehr Gesprächsfreiheit und daher könnte es als ein
Beispiel für beide "gemischt" und eingebetteter Intertextualität" betrachtet werden.

Tabloid talk shows have become popular due to their proximity to ordinary people and
their availability in terms of content.
Ilie (2001) has presented the
talk show as a hybrid of conversational and institutional discourse and introduced the label
semi-institutional discourse.
This research has studied the tabloid talk show as an instance of mixed discursive type that
combines features related to both institutional and conversational discourse. The aim of the
research is to investigate some essential turn-taking aspects and the reflection of the
selected discursive features in the turn-taking system of the selected talk shows. To
elucidate the conversational and institutional sides of the talk show, such discursive aspects
as asymmetrical power relations, role-shift and overhearing audience and such linguistic
aspect as turn-taking have been chosen. The theoretical part of the research is dedicated to the discussion of the discursive aspects and turn-taking in the talk show.
In the empirical part, the co-existence of conversation and institutional talk is explored on
the basis of turn-allocation techniques and the functions of repetition and overlaps, with
reference to the corpus consisting of the transcripts of two tabloid talk shows, The Ellen
DeGeneres Show and The View.
The analysis has shown that The View, the talk with with four co-hosts, is more
institutionalized and is as an example of Fairclough’s “embedded intertextuality”.
The other talk show, The
Ellen DeGeneres Show, with only one host has more conversational freedom and,
therefore, might be treated as an instance of both “mixed” and “embedded intertextuality”.
