Weltweit existiert aktuell eine Vielzahl an Herausforderungen im Gesundheitswesen und in der Gesundheitsvorsorge, mit welchen die internationale Gesundheits-Branche tagtäglich zu kämpfen hat. Speziell die erhöhte Rate an Diabetes-Neuerkrankungen und die steigende Anzahl jeglicher Formen kardiovaskulärer Erkrankungen sind bis heute nicht gelöst, wobei zur Zeit nur eine geringe Zahl an Präventivmaßnahmen bestehen, um den aktuellen Trend zu stoppen. Zusammen mit den neu aufkommenden Technologien rund um das Thema mobile health (mHealth) wird es immer wichtiger, die Möglichkeiten dieser neuen Ansätze zu erforschen und diese in bestehende Gesundheitssysteme in präventiver Weise zu integrieren, um den Nutzen aus ihrer Anwendung zu maximieren. Die mobilen Plattformen, die als essentieller Baustein von mHealth gesehen werden können, sind einer der Faktoren die über Erfolg bzw. Misserfolg der aktuellen Ideen entscheiden können und deshalb umfassend analysiert werden müssen. Die vorliegende Arbeit erforscht auf quantitative Weise eine Auswahl an möglichen Marktkonstellationen im Bereich der präventiven und mobilen Gesundheitsvorsorge-Plattformen, wobei das theoretische Verständnis hinter den Ansätzen, welches mittels einer umfassenden Literaturanalyse angeeignet wurde, und das Forschungsprojekt PRECIOUS einen wichtigen Bestandteil darstellen.

Worldwide currently exists a variety of challenges in the health system and in health care, with which the international healthcare industry has to fight with everyday. Specifically, the increased rate of new diabetes cases and the increasing number of all forms of cardiovascular disease has not been solved these days, whereby only a small number of preventive measures exist to stop the current trend. Together with the new emerging technologies on the subject of mobile health (mHealth) it is increasingly becoming important to explore the possibilities of these new approaches and to integrate them into existing health systems in a preventive manner to maximize the benefits from their applications. The mobile platforms, which can be seen as an essential building block of mHealth, are one of the factors that can determine the success or failure of the current ideas and therefore have to be analyzed comprehensively. The present thesis explores a selection of potential market constellations in the field of preventive and mobile healthcare platforms in a quantitative manner, whereby the theoretical understanding behind the approaches, which was acquired by means of a comprehensive analysis of the existing literature, and the research project PRECIOUS are important parts.
