Keine andere Gesetzgebung als das “Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment” (BBBEE) - Gesetz in 2003 und das “Employment Equity” – Gesetz in 1998 haben nur annähernd viel Gesprächsstoff geschaffen. Der Hintergedanke war die wirtschaftliche und soziale Chancengleichheit aller vormals unterdrückten Menschenrassen. Das Ergebnis dieser Masterarbeit ist das folgende: bevor ein neues Konzept von BBBEE erarbeitet werden sollte, ist es von höhere Bedeutung die Ausgaben für Bildung zu erhöhen. Südafrika wird sonst in wenigen Jahren mit der steigenden Geburtsrate und der sich ausbreitenden Armut zu kämpfen haben. Erst auf mittel-bis langfristige Sicht ist die Fortführung von BBBEE sinnvoll. Anstatt einer strikteren Gesetzgebung ist es besser, die allgemeine Entwicklung im Land zu unterstützen. Dazu gehört auch die Förderung von ausländischen Direktinvestitionen, bei denen Marktoffenheit eine signifikante Variable ist. Am Ende kann man jedoch sagen, dass Südafrika weiterhin ein Land voller Hoffnung und Wachstum ist.

No other legislation in the business area in South Africa has stimulated as much debate and controversy as the introduction of different Equality Acts, namely the Employment Equity Act and the Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment Act (BBBEE). The aim was to create an artificial social equality within the different ethnic groups of Whites, Blacks, Asians and Indians.
The master thesis deals with the impact of BBBEE on the economic situation. In a second step the attractiveness of Foreign Direct Investment will be evaluated in a mathematical model, before general influencing factors, which could be relevant for the future economic growth will be presented. To sum up, the further development of BBBEE should be the second step. Of primary importance for economic growth is the equal support of education for all races.
