Abstract
(Deutsch)
Abstract
(Englisch)
This thesis works on patronage models for retail sales locations in Austria. Spatial gravitational models are the basis for the analysis. One of the most famous is the model of Darren Huff. For the purpose of comparability the analysis will also be carried out by a model of the utility theory, the multinominal logit-model. The patch of the locations will be calculated on the basis of attractiveness and utility. Factors for attractiveness and utility are therefore distance, size of the place in which the location is situated, competition and sales area. The geographical basis for the calculations are small scale raster units. The result is the probability for the visit from a raster in the patch to a specific location. The work on the analysis are done by the desktop GIS solution form ESRI, ArcGIS 9.2.
