Die Thematisierung von Migration in der Literatur geht mit Identitätskonstruktion Hand in Hand. Ein Blick auf Romanfiguren, die eine Migrationserfahrung gemacht haben, verweist oft auf deren interkulturelle, transkulturelle oder hybride Identität. Die vorliegende Arbeit soll der Frage der Identitätskonstruktion in der Migration anhand von Romanen aus dem deutschsprachigen (Julya Rabinowich, Anna Kim) und dem frankophonen Raum (Fatou Diome, Linda Lê) nachgehen. Sowohl anglophone und frankophone postkoloniale Theorie, als auch die Konzepte Kreolisierung, Interkulturalität und Transkulturalität werden auf ihre Wichtigkeit geprüft und stellen die begriffliche Basis.
Um die Analyse von Identität einzugrenzen, wurden drei Motive gewählt (Familie, Sprache, Körper), die in der Migration eine wichtige Rolle einnehmen und anhand derer ein interdisziplinärer Zugang in die Analyse Eingang finden soll. Inwiefern sich Identität im Kontext von Migration über diese drei Faktoren (Familie, Sprache, Körper) definiert, konstruiert oder dekonstruiert, soll in vorliegender Arbeit behandelt werden.

Discussing migration as a subject in literature goes hand in hand with the discussion of the construction of identity. When regarding the characters in a novel who have experienced migration, they often turn out to have intercultural, transcultural or hybrid identities. This thesis is supposed to discuss questions referring to the construction of identity on the basis of four novels: two of the authors come from a German-speaking background (Julya Rabinowich, Anna Kim), the other two come from a Francophone background (Fatou Diome, Linda Lê). Both Anglophone and Francophone postcolonial theories and the concepts creolization, interculturalism and transculturalism are going to be examined on their importance and are going to offer a conceptual basis.
In order to narrow down possible approaches to the analysis of identity, three literary motifs were chosen (family, language, body). They have an important role in the context of migration and are going to provide an interdisciplinary approach in the discussion of identity. This thesis is going to examine in what way identity – impacted by the experience of migration – can be defined, constructed or deconstructed in the context of these three factors: family, language, body.
