In Zeiten von multiple crisis und peak everything werden komplexe Herausforderungen wie globale sozio-ökonomische Ungleichgewichte sowie die Gestaltung einer nachhaltigen Welternährung zusehends relevanter und dringlicher. Das Ziel dieser Diplomarbeit ist es daher, jungen Menschen die Möglichkeiten zu geben, sich kritisch mit diesen Fragestellungen auseinanderzusetzen. Die Food Regime Analysis bietet dahingehend Erklärungsansätze in Bezug auf den Zusammenhang zwischen Landwirtschaft und Kapitalismus und den daraus entstandenen globalen Machtverhältnissen und Ungleichgewichten. Als ein Lösungsansatz für diese Problemanalyse wird das Konzept der internationalen bottom-up Bewegung Ernährungssouveränität auf konzeptioneller und praktischer Ebene skizziert. Da sich das Lehr- und Lernprinzip Globales Lernen aufgrund seiner Perspektive, Inhalt und Methodik anbietet, wurde ein siebenstündiger Workshop nach den Prinzipien Globalen Lernens erstellt. Um die Integration der Bildungsmaterialien in österreichischen Schulen zu erleichtern, wurden u.a. die Kompetenzorientierung sowie die Basiskonzepte des Unterrichtsfaches Geographie und Wirtschaftskunde als Synergien identifiziert. Die Bildungsmaterialien wurden anhand der didaktischen Grundfragen vorgestellt und in den aktuellen Lehrplan von Geographie und Wirtschaftskunde eingebettet. Zwei Workshopmodule wurden mit 15-jährigen SchülerInnen des Bundesgymnasiums Zehnergasse in Wiener Neustadt umgesetzt und in Bezug auf den Grad der Sensibilisierung sowie auf die Bewertung der Organisation und Arbeitsaufträge nach jeweils sechs Kriterien evaluiert. Als relevantesten Erkenntnisgewinn gaben die SchülerInnen am häufigsten die Schlüsselbegriffe Fairness, Wertschätzung von Lebensmitteln sowie die Konzepte Solidarische Landwirtschaft und Food-Coop an. Die Organisation sowie die Arbeitsaufträge der beiden Workshopmodule wurden anhand der Evaluierungsergebnisse optimiert. Zusammenfassend lässt sich feststellen, dass sich die Integration des Workshops What about food? nach dem Lehr- und Lernprinzip Globales Lernen in den Geographie- und Wirtschaftskunde-Unterricht auf theoretischer und praktischer Ebene anbietet.

In times of multiple crises and peak everything complex challenges like dealing with global social-economic inequality and creating a sustainable global food system are gaining relevance and urgency. The aim of this thesis is to give young people the opportunity to tackle these questions in a critical way. The food regime analysis offers an explanatory approach to the relation between agriculture and capitalism and furthermore the caused power relations and global inequality. In addition, the international social movement food sovereignty is one possible approach to tackle the aforementioned problems. By designing educational materials about the problem analysis of the perspective of Radical Geography and the growing structures and initiatives of food sovereignty, awareness should be raised. A seven-hour workshop for 15-18 year old pupils was created. It is based on the principle of Global Education. To facilitate the integration of this workshop of Global Education in Austrian schools, competence orientation, general teaching aims and basic didactic concepts of the subject Geography and Economics were of major importance. The workshop materials are discussed with a didactical focus and are embedded in the curriculum of the subject Geography- and Economics. The workshop was conducted with 15-year old pupils of an Austrian secondary school. The success was evaluated with regard to sensitisation as well as organisation and task-choice of the workshop materials. The most relevant learnings due to the pupils were fairness, appreciation of food and the concepts Food cooperatives and Community Supported Agriculture. The workshop materials were optimized as a result of the evaluation. In conclusion, the didactical discussion and the evaluation of the workshop materials show that the integration of this workshop in Geography- and Economics classes can be beneficial at a theoretical and a practical level.
