Diese Forschung beschäftigt sich mit Formen des Kitsch in zwei Stadtentwicklungsprojekten. Diese Projekte in Skopje, Mazedonien und Zaandam, Niederlande, werden in ihren spezifischen diskutiert Kontexte und dann analysiert entlang eines Rahmens auf Themen und Themen im Zusammenhang mit der kulturelle Kategorie von Kitsch. Diese Kategorie behandelt sowohl stilistische als auch ästhetische sondern konzentriert sich auch auf Prozesse außerhalb des Objekts. So ermöglicht es, an Kitsch zu denken Label, das genauso gut auf Politik, Politik oder Stadtentwicklung angewendet werden kann Projekte abgesehen von nur kulturellen Objekten. Außerdem verbindet sich Kitsch mit den Ideologien und Erzählungen der UDPs zeigt, wie diese in der tatsächlichen physischen Form ausgedrückt werden. Schlussendlich Es geht um die Frage, was diese Kitsch - Etikettierung bedeutet, aber auch, auf welche Weise Etikett wird verwendet oder angewendet und welche Art von Antworten ruft dies hervor und beantwortet 'auf welche Weise kann kitsch mit den zeitgenössischen Stadtentwicklungsprojekten Skopje 2014 und Inverdan? "Obwohl die Städte und Projekte im Kontext und der Daraus ergibt sich, dass es immer noch Gemeinsamkeiten gibt in der Art und Weise, wie Kitsch verwendet wird und wie dies zu verstehen ist ein anhaltender weltweiter Druck, in neoliberaler Logik zu konkurrieren.

This research concerns itself with forms of kitsch in two urban development projects. These projects in Skopje, Macedonia and Zaandam, The Netherlands, are discussed in their specific contexts and then analysed along a framework based on themes and topics related to the cultural category of kitsch. This category deals with both stylistic and aesthetic characteristics, but also focuses on processes outside of the object. Thus it enables to think of kitsch as a label that can just as well be applied to politics, policies or therefore urban development projects apart from just cultural objects. Furthermore linking kitsch with the ideologies and narratives of the UDPs shows how these are expressed in the actual physical form. In the end it is about the question what labeling these projects kitsch means, but also in what ways the label is used or applied and what kind of responses this evokes thus answering ‘in what ways can kitsch be related to the contemporary urban development projects Skopje 2014 and Inverdan?’ Although the cities and projects are incredibly different in context and the resulting style, there are still similarities in the way that kitsch is used and how this relates to a continuing global pressure to compete in neoliberal logics.
