Abstract
(Deutsch)

The Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU is an international treaty, within which the directions of European integration of Ukraine are determined. By its legal nature, the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU is characterized as a bilateral international public contract which defines the conditions for international cooperation between Ukraine and the EU and its 28 member states.
This thesis provides a comprehensive analysis of the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement and determines the role of the Association Agenda in its implementation mechanism. In particular, it investigates the measures defined by the Association Agenda and their performance by the national institutions.
The work provides a retrospective survey of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU in order to highlight the key points in the process of its conclusion.
Special attention is paid to the institutional mechanism of implementation of the Association Agreement that includes such institutions as the Summit of Heads of State of Ukraine and the EU, the Association Council, the Association Committee, the Parliamentary Committee of the Association and the Civil Society Platform. In addition, the role of civil society in the given system is also assessed.
On the basis of the conducted study, the issues that hinder proper performance of the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement are identified and respective recommendations are developed.
