Diese Arbeit sucht nach Möglichkeiten und Strategien um Machtstrukturen innerhalb postfeministischer Medieninstitutionen herauszufordern. Das Künstlerinnenkollektiv The Ardorous wird repräsentativ für „girl power media culture produced by girls“ mittels digitaler, retrospektiver und interpretativer Ethnographie vorgestellt, um widerständige Praktiken jenseits traditioneller Konzepte von Aktivismus aufzudecken. Gestützt durch einen poststrukturalistischen, queeren theoretischen Rahmen lassen die Ergebnisse darauf schließen, dass die Deutungshoheit über den Zustand von legitimer Kritik kontinuierlich hinterfragt werden muss und „drag performance“ und „camp“-Ästhetik wirkungsvolle kreative Werkzeuge sein können, um dominante Narrative zu denaturalisieren.

This thesis is an exploration of possibilities and strategies to challenge power-structures from within postfeminist media institutions. The art collective The Ardorous, as representatives of girl power media culture produced by girls, are portrayed by means of digital, retrospective and interpretative ethnography to reveal resistant practices beyond traditional conceptions of activism. Supported by a poststructuralist, queer theoretical frame, the findings suggest that authorities of criticism have to be continuously re-evaluated, and drag performance and camp aesthetic are useful creative tools to challenge dominant narratives.
