Mehr als die Hälfte der Weltbevölkerung lebt heute in Städten. Diese Tatsache ist ein Phänomen, das die Art und Weise, wie wir „das Städtische“ verstehen, drastisch verändert hat. Diese Arbeit analysiert, wie wir, wenn wir einen Stadtplan als Diskurs utopischen Charakters lesen und die gelebte Erfahrung einer lebenden Stadt beobachten, die Beziehung zwischen Planung und Lebensqualität verstehen können. Es wird ein Vergleich zwischen dem Stadtplan von Barcelona und der gebauten / genutzten Stadt durchgeführt. Es be- trachtet das breite Ausmaß des Themas und der Stadt selbst und berührt das Konzept der städtischen Akupunktur, um ein Mikroprojekt der jüngsten Entwicklung, den Super-Block, zu verwenden. Da es sich um eine Stadt mit sorgfältigen städtischen Ideologien handelt, ist es einfach, die utopische Erzählung bereits mit Cerdas Plan und jetzt mit Ruedas Idee einer selbsttragenden „Mini-Umgebung“ zu verfolgen. Das Ergebnis zeigen eine Diskrepanz zwischen der gelebten und der geplanten Stadt, aber auch ein Unterschied in der utopischen Bildsprache von der Vormoderne zur Postmoderne.
Darüber hinaus kann mit Unterstützung von Autoren wie de Certeau und Hinton gefolgen werden, dass die Planung einen Blick auf die Zukunft bewahren sollte, während der histor- ische und soziale Bereich betrachtet wird. Aus akademischer Sicht wird diese Studie wie in der praktischen Philosophie zu einem Baustein in den Bereichen Utopie und Stadtforschung. Aus praktischer Sicht wird der Drang betont bei der Planung sozialer Umgebungen (Städte) vorsichtig zu sein, insbesondere wenn es um die wachsenden aktuellen Probleme wie die soziale Ungleichheit und der Klimawandel geht.

More than half of the population of the world live in cities. This issue is a phenomenon that has – drastically – changed the way we understand „the urban“. This thesis analyses how, when reading a city-plan as a discourse of utopian character and observing the lived experi- ence of a used city, we can understand the relationship between planning and liveability. A comparison was made between the urban plan of Barcelona and the built/used city. It is con- sidering the broad extent of the topic and of the city itself, touching upon the concept of urb- an acupuncture to use a micro-scale project of recent development, the Barcelona Super- block. It being a city of careful urban ideologies, it is easy to track the utopian narrative already with Cerda’s plan, and now with Rueda’s idea of a self-sustainable „mini-environ- ment“. Our results show a discrepancy between the lived city and the planned city. But also, a difference in utopian picturing from the pre-modernism to the post-modernist era.
Furthermore, with support from authors like de Certeau and Hinton, it can be drawn that planning should conserve a view on the future while looking at the historical and social realm. From an academic perspective, this study becomes a building-block within the fields of utopian and urban studies, as in practical philosophy. From a practical aspect, it emphas- ises the urge to be cautious when planing social environments (cities), especially when it comes to the growing contemporary problems such as social inequality and climate change.
