Die vorliegende Arbeit ist ein Porträt der Lebenswirklichkeiten und Schicksale der Findelkinder in Granada Ende des 18. Jahrhunderts. Ausgehend von Notizen des Findelhauses in Granada, werden ausgewählte Fälle genauer beleuchtet, hinter denen sich spannende Mikroerzählungen verbergen. Ziel ist es, herauszufinden, wer die Personen waren, die die Kinder ausgesetzt haben und welche Motive zu diesen schrecklichen Entscheidungen führten. Auch werden die Orte und Momente, an denen die Kinder ausgesetzt wurden, untersucht. Darüber hinaus werden damit in Zusammenhang stehende Umstände beleuchtet, wie z.B. die Bedeutung der Taufen und jene Fälle, bei denen die Kinder wieder ihren Eltern übergeben wurden sowie die Schicksale der Kinder, die nicht überlebten.

This work is a portrait of the realities and destinies of foundlings in Granada at the end of the 18th century. Based on the notes in the entry book of the city's foundling hospital, particularly illustrative cases are examined in order to reveal some of the stories that conceal dramatic episodes in the lives of the inhabitants of the foundling hospital. The aim of this thesis is to shed light on the individuals who exposed these children and reveal the motives behind their terrible actions. Furthermore, the places as well as the moments of the abandonment will be analyzed. In addition, related circumstances are investigated, such as the importance of the baptisms and the exceptional cases in which the children were returned to their parents alive, but also those of the unfortunate ones who did not manage to survive.
