Diese Arbeit analysiert die Position von Künstler*innen und Kulturschaffenden, die sich mit Migrationsthemen in der Wiener Kunstszene beschäftigen, und setzt den Fokus auf die kulturelle Veränderung der letzten zehn Jahre. Durch den Vergleich des Projekts Pimp My Integration (2011/2012) mit gegenwärtigen Initiativen wie MUSMIG sowie durch Interviews mit unterrepräsentierten Künstler*innen und Kulturschaffenden werden sowohl Fortschritte als auch andauernde Herausforderungen dargestellt. Trotz einiger Fortschritte durch Organisationen wie D/Arts und kültüř gemma!, die von marginalisierten Gemeinschaften selbst gegründet wurden, hat seit Pimp my integration nur minimale Veränderung stattgefunden. Permanente Probleme wie unzureichende Repräsentation in Entscheidungspositionen, Herausforderungen bei der Finanzierung und die Stärkung von Stereotypen wurden festgestellt. Die Arbeit untersucht die Auswirkungen von Migration auf kulturelle Praktiken und betont die Notwendigkeit einer nachhaltigen Veränderung der institutionellen Strukturen sowie inklusiverer Praktiken. Sie unterstreicht die Bedeutung der Kulturstrategie 2030 für zukünftige Entwicklungen und betont, dass ihr Erfolg von einer transparenten Zusammenarbeit zwischen verschiedenen Interessengruppen abhängt.

This thesis explores the evolving position of artists and cultural workers engaged with migration topics in Vienna’s art scene, focusing on the last ten years of cultural development. By comparing the „Pimp My Integration” project (2011/2012) with contemporary initiatives like MUSMIG and incorporating insights from interviews with underrepresented artists and cultural workers, this research highlights both progress and ongoing challenges. The analysis reveals minimal change since „Pimp My Integration”, despite some progression through organizations like D/Arts and kültüř gemma! that have emerged from marginalized communities themselves. It recognizes continuous issues such as insufficient representation in decision-making roles, funding challenges, and the reinforcement of stereotypes. The thesis analyzes the impact of migration on cultural practices, emphasizing the need for long-term change in institutional structures and more inclusive practices. It emphasizes the importance of the Cultural Strategy 2030 in shaping future developments and suggests that its success depends on transparent and effective collaboration between diverse stakeholders.
