Diese Masterarbeit untersucht das Thema der kollektiven Autorschaft auf digitalen Plattformen. Als Material dienen die verschiedenen Entwicklungsstufen des SCP-Projekts, eines kollaborativen Schreibprojekts, das sich durch hochgradig formalisierte fiktionale Narrative auszeichnet. Es wird eine Geschichte der technischen und kulturellen Entwicklung des SCP-Projekts auf den Websites 4chan.org, editthis.info und wikidot.com nachgezeichnet. Die Materialauswahl folgt einem ethnographischen Zugang zu den jeweiligen Plattformen. Anschließend wird eine foucaultsche Analyse dieser Dispositive vorgenommen, um die Funktion des Autors in diesen digitalen Räumen zu klären. Dabei werden mehrere zentrale diskursive Mechanismen identifiziert, die sich um den Begriff der Autorschaft gruppieren, sowie deren spezifische Anpassungen an digitale Kontexte herausgearbeitet. Durch die verschiedenen Iterationen des Projekts verändert sich die Rolle des Autors von einer anonymen Nicht-Identität hin zu einer streng regulierten – und selbst stark regulierenden – Instanz, deren Ausprägung jeweils eng an den technischen Kontext der jeweiligen Plattform gebunden ist.

This master’s thesis takes a look at the topic of collective authorship in digital platforms. The different iterations of the SCP-Project were used as material for these considerations. The SCP-Project is a collective writing project with a focus on highly formalized fictional narratives. A history of the technical and cultural development of this SCP-Project on the websites 4chan.org, editthis.info and wikidot.com is produced. The choice of material is informed by an ethnographic approach to the websites at hand. Afterwards a foucauldian analysis of these dispositifs was performed in order to clarify the function of the author in these digital spaces. Several key discursive mechanisms around the concept of authorship were identified and particular adaptions to digital contexts were explicated. Through the different iterations of the project, the role of the author as discursive mechanism changed from being an anonymous non-entity to a strictly regulated and highly regulating one in a way that is bound to the particular technical context of a platform.
