Diese Arbeit untersucht der AfD zugehörige Kommunikation auf Telegram während des Bundestagswahlkampfs 2025 als eine Form des rechtspopulistischen Verschwörungsdiskurses unter plattformspezifischen Sichtbarkeitsbedingungen. Die Studie analysiert (N = 3.476) Textbeiträge aus 50 öffentlichen Telegram-Kanälen der AfD und ihrer Politiker:innen, die zwischen dem 26. Januar und dem 9. März 2025 gesammelt wurden. Methodisch kombiniert sie eine lexikonbasierte computergestützte Inhaltsanalyse unter Verwendung des RPC-Lex (Puschmann et al., 2022) mit einer expositionsangepassten Modellierung des Engagements. Rechtspopulistische und konspirative Kommunikation wird durch kategoriespezifische und aggregierte lexikalische Intensitätswerte operationalisiert, während das Engagement als Reaktionen in Abhängigkeit von Aufrufen modelliert wird. Die Ergebnisse zeigen ein hochkonzentriertes Diskursprofil, das von Anti-Elitismus, Islam-/Einwanderungsfeindlichkeit, Verschwörungsdiskurs, Deutschem Nationalismus und misstrauischer Sprache dominiert wird. Eine höhere RPC-Lex-Gesamtintensität ist mit einem höheren Engagement pro Aufruf verbunden, während die Effekte auf Kategorieebene bei Deutschem Nationalismus, Protest, Anti-Elitismus, Enthüllung und Verschwörung am stärksten sind. Die Ergebnisse deuten darauf hin, dass Telegram als Wahlkampfakteur fungiert, in dem antagonistischer und verschwörungstheoretischer Diskurs sowohl routinemäßig artikuliert als auch durch die Reaktionen des Publikums selektiv belohnt wird.

This thesis examines AfD-affiliated Telegram communication during the 2025 German federal election campaign as a form of right-wing populist conspiracy discourse under platform-specific visibility conditions. The study analyzes (N = 3,476) text posts from 50 public AfD party and politicians’ Telegram channels collected between January 26 and March 9, 2025. Methodologically, it combines dictionary-based computational content analysis using RPC-Lex (Puschmann et al., 2022) with exposure-adjusted engagement modeling. Right-wing populist and conspiracist communication is operationalized through category-specific and aggregated lexical intensity scores, while engagement is modeled as reactions conditional on views. The results show a highly concentrated discourse profile dominated by anti-elitism, anti-Islam/immigration sentiments, conspiracy-related elements, German nationalism, and vocabularies of suspicion. Higher overall RPC-Lex intensity is associated with higher engagement per view, while category-level effects are strongest for German nationalism, protest, anti-elitism, exposure, and conspiracy. The findings indicate that Telegram functions as a campaign actor in which antagonistic and conspiracist discourse is both routinely articulated and selectively rewarded by audience response.
