In dieser Arbeit wird eine emanzipatorische Lesart der politischen Philosophie Simone Weils entwickelt, wobei zunächst der Emanzipationsbegriff historisch wie systematisch rekonstruiert und anschließend als Streben nach individueller sowie kollektiver Autonomie bestimmt wird. Auf dieser begrifflichen Grundlage werden Weils politische Schriften neu interpretiert. Die dort verwendeten, auf den ersten Blick konservativ konnotierten Begriffe - etwa Tradition, Nation, Patriotismus und Hierarchie - werden als konzeptionell „entleert“ ausgewiesen, was sie für eine emanzipatorische Wende öffnet. Die zentrale These dieser Arbeit lautet dementsprechend, dass Weil mittels Entleerung in der Lage ist, aus konservativen Konzepten emanzipatorische politische Forderungen abzuleiten. Abschließend wird die Entleerung in Weils politischem Denken mit ihrer Religionsphilosophie, insbesondere ihren theoretischen Ansätzen attention und décréation, in Verbindung gebracht.

This thesis develops an emancipatory interpretation of Simone Weil’s political philosophy, beginning with a historical and systematic reconstruction of the concept of emancipation, which is then defined as the pursuit of both individual and collective autonomy. On this conceptual basis, Weil’s political writings are reinterpreted. The terms used there - such as tradition, nation, patriotism and hierarchy - carry conservative connotations, but are shown to be conceptually "emptied", which opens them up to an emancipatory shift. Accordingly, the central proposition of this thesis is that, through this conceptual emptying, Weil is able to derive emancipatory political demands from conservative concepts. Finally, this process of emptying in Weil’s political thought is linked to her philosophy of religion, in particular to her ideas of attention and decreation.
